Starting Salary: Competitive pay structure, wages are negotiable depending on qualifications and experience, credit will be given for related full-time law enforcement experience. Starting wage is $27.60 to $33.12 per hour, depending on experience. Non-certified candidates may be sponsored through POST, though at a slightly lower wage while in the academy.

Summary: Performs law enforcement duties related to enforcing laws, maintaining peace, and protecting life and property. Works under general supervision of a patrol sergeant, lieutenant and Chief. Patrols areas of Centerville City, responds to calls for service, controls traffic, writes reports, transports prisoners, presents a positive image to the public at all times, serves legal notices, summons, and warrants as required, attends wide variety of training to include proficiency in firearms and driving tactics. Will submit to a psychological evaluation and drug test. Car per man program available with off duty use of car within 25 driving miles of Parrish Lane
Minimum Requirements: Must be 21 years old, no disqualifying criminal records, maintain certifications, graduate from high school, P.O.S.T. Certified / or the ability to obtain Utah POST Basic Certificate and be able to pass the URMMA Physical Fitness Standards Test, have a current valid Utah driver’s license, and demonstrate good moral character, good communication skills, free of emotional, physical, mental conditions that might adversely affect the performance of duty as a police officer.
